Equipment & Skill Level

  • Equipment: Modern powder ski technology is recommended. Demo and rental equipment is available at a discounted rate online ahead of time from Cliff Sports, Snowbird Sports and Creekside Sports.
  • Skill: All participants should be advanced skiers or snowboarders in good physical condition for high-altitude exertion in variable off-piste snow and weather conditions. After booking, a guide will follow up with a phone conversation to discuss your day and previous experience skiing.
  • Safety: Participants must wear an avalanche transceiver (one will be provided) for the entirety of the experience.
  • Operations: With an average of 500" of annual snowfall in Little Cottonwood Canyon, our teams closely monitor changing conditions when it comes to avalanche conditions and weather. Trips may be canceled due to various circumstances, including canyon closures, terrain access and high avalanche hazards. We always wait as long as we can to see if conditions will allow us to operate; this means that trips can be canceled the day before your scheduled tour.
