Snowbird to Offer Skiing & Riding, As Well As Rooftop Balconies, For Father's Day Weekend

Snowbird, Utah – Following a record-breaking winter season, Snowbird will be open for skiing and snowboarding for Father’s Day weekend, June 17-18, conditions permitting. The resort will also be unveiling its brand-new Tram rooftop balconies—the first and only of their kind in North America—scheduled to open on Saturday, June 17. The new balconies will offer breathtaking, 360-degree views of Little Cottonwood Canyon and will remain available to guests as an upgrade to Summer Scenic Tram Rides for the entirety of the summer season. Additional summer activities will open as soon as conditions permit.

“This season has been exciting, complex and record-breaking by all accounts,” said Snowbird President and General Manager Dave Fields. “Not only have we seen incredible amounts of snow on the mountain, but significant melting as spring progresses. Conditions on the mountain change not only weekly, but daily. While we feel it’s too soon to promise we will be skiing and riding on the Fourth of July, we certainly hope that will be the case.”

The mountain will temporarily cease operations after Memorial Day as the Tram closes for its scheduled maintenance and the installation of the new rooftop balconies. The mountain will then reopen for skiing and riding, conditions permitting, for Father’s Day weekend, from 8 am – 2 pm. After June 18, Snowbird will assess conditions each weekend thereafter to determine if it can remain open for skiing and riding, including the four days of Fourth of July weekend.

Those who purchase 2023-24 Summit or Alta-Bird season passes will be able to use their new pass for the remainder of Snowbird's 2022-23 season, including this June. 2023-24 Season Passes are on sale now, with prices increasing after June 1.
